The University Libraries (Tarver/Swilley/Centers) have acquired access to a number of new Web of Science resources. School of Medicine has access to all of them. Some of the resources are individual databases and others are included in the Web of Science Core Collection Database. Training materials are available at: Below is information regarding the individual databases. They have been added to the Databases and Resources dropdown menu on the Skelton Medical Libraries Website. They may also be found by going to the Web of Science Database and clicking on the orange downward pointing arrow on the search toolbar. BIOSIS Citation Index 1926-Present BIOSIS Citation Index is the world's most comprehensive
reference database for life science research. It includes cited references to
primary journal literature on vital biological research, medical research
findings, and discoveries of new organisms. It also covers original research
reports and reviews in traditional biological and biomedical areas. Current Contents Connect 1998-Present Current Contents Connect® is a current awareness database that provides easy Web access to complete tables of contents, abstracts, bibliographic information, and abstracts from the most recently published issues of leading scholarly journals, as well as from more than 7,000 relevant, evaluated websites. Subject areas are: Agriculture, Biology & Environmental Sciences Social & Behavioral Sciences Clinical Medicine Life Sciences Physical, Chemical & Earth Sciences Engineering, Computing & Technology Arts & Humanities Business Collection Electronics & Telecommunications Collection http://webofknowledge.com.medlib-proxy.mercer.edu/CCC Data Citation Index 1900-Present (Linking NIH & NSF Funded Research Open Access Data Sets) The Data Citation Index on the Web of Science provides a single
point of access to quality research data from repositories across disciplines
and around the world. Through linked content and summary information, this data
is displayed within the broader context of the scholarly research, enabling
users to gain perspective that is lost when data sets or repositories are
viewed in isolation. These connections allow researchers to efficiently access
to an array of data across subjects and regions, providing a comprehensive
picture of research output, to maximize research efforts and accurately assess
importance. Derwent Innovations Index (Patents) 1963-Present Derwent Innovations Index® facilitates rapid, precise patent
searching, letting you conduct patent and citation searches of inventions. This
resource merges the value-added patent information fromDerwent World
Patents Index® with the patent citation information from Derwent
Patent Citation Index®. You can use additional descriptive information
and coding to quickly grasp a patent's significance and its relationship to
other patents. Reduce duplication of R&D; track competitors' activities;
detect and avoid patent infringement; identify potential gaps in the
marketplace and possible licensing opportunities. Zoological Record 1864-Present The worlds oldest continuing database of animal biology.
It is considered the worlds leading taxonomic reference, and with
coverage back to 1864, has long acted as the worlds unofficial register
of animal names. The broad scope of coverage ranges from biodiversity and the
environment to taxonomy and veterinary sciences. Below is information regarding resources included in the Web of Science Core Collection. To select specific resources within the Core Collection, go to the Web of Science Database, then click on MORE SETTINGS, then make your selections. Book Citation Index Science and Social Sciences & Humanities Editions (Included in Core Collection) 2005-Present The Book Citation Index in the Web of Science Core Collection connects a librarys book collection to powerful new discovery tools, giving researchers the ability to quickly and easily identify and access the most relevant books. As a part of the Web of Science Core Collection, Book Citation Index allows users to search seamlessly across books, journals and conference proceedings to find the information most relevant to their work within one platform. Conference Proceedings Index Science and Social Sciences & Humanities Editions (Included in Core Collection) 1990-Present Conference proceedings depict the leading edge of research revealing emerging trends and new ideas before they appear in journals. The Conference Proceedings Citation Index, a Web of Science®database, lets you use cited reference searching to see the full impact of conferences and other professional meetings. You can track the influence of papers, authors, and conference series. And you can see how conferences influence all aspects of your research. Current Chemical Reactions (Included in Core Collection) 1986-Present Current Chemical Reactions contains single- and multi-step new synthetic methods taken from leading journals and patents from 36 issuing authorities. The overall reaction flow is provided for each method, along with a detailed and accurate graphical representation of each reaction step. Index Chemicus (Included in Core Collection) 1993-Present Index Chemicus contains the structures and critical supporting data for novel organic compounds reported in leading international journals. It is a vital source of new information on biologically active compounds and natural products. |
